Digital Empowerment of Employees Hindered by Lack of Manager Training and Development – New Study by Infor and the HR Research Institute
About two-fifths of respondents indicate that managers in their organization are not getting the education and training needed to digitally empower the people reporting to them. Also, organizations are likely to encourage employees to use appropriate technologies, but only 33% train them in how to leverage such technologies.
The free research report, Digital Empowerment Today, is now available for download. HR.com’s HR Research Institute and global leader in business cloud software, Infor, conducted the study of HR professionals to investigate the state of digital transformation for empowering employees with HR technology to optimize self-service digital tools.
Further investigation highlights the findings that changing technologies (70%) and employee expectations (57%) are the biggest drivers for digital empowerment. A large majority of HR professionals anticipate the typical workday will change over the next two years as a result of greater digital empowerment and enablement. The top two anticipated changes involve employee flexibility:
-
employees will have greater choice about where they work (55%)
-
work schedules will become more flexible (54%)
“The pandemic is forcing employers to focus more on meeting employee expectations and providing the right technology to create productive and happy remote workers,” stated Debbie McGrath, Chief Instigator and CEO of HR.com. “And that begins with preparing leaders to manage this world of remote and hybrid work.”
