HR.com, the largest network of human resources (HR) professionals, today announced they have selected One Donation, creator of an innovative blockchain-based charitable giving platform, to power a new social giving program designed exclusively for HR.com subscribers.
“Since the very beginning of our company, ‘giving back’ has been a priority,” said Debbie McGrath, founder, and CEO of HR.com. “Through One Donation, we now have an opportunity to do that at scale, and more importantly, do so in a way that connects our members to the charities that resonate on a deeply personal level.”
Through this new initiative, HR.com will donate a percentage of the purchase price of each membership to a charity of the subscriber’s choosing. During the checkout process, subscribers can select from more than 1.6 million charities and HR.com will send a donation on the subscriber’s behalf. To simplify finding and selecting charities, One Donation allows the user to browse by category or search for a specific charity, all directly within the checkout process.
“When we built the platform, we wanted to ensure that transparency, speed, and security ran through its veins. That’s why blockchain and Graph QL serve as the technology backbone of the business,” stated Ross Treakle, co-founder, and CEO of One Donation. “Whether we’re connecting with a payroll provider so their clients can extend new charitable giving options to employees or plugging into a subscription and purchase workflow as we do with HR.com, we can do so in a way that’s both easy to set up and easy to evolve as a business and operational needs change.”
Raising funds and raising awareness
Another element of the HR.com giving initiative entails using the subscriber’s social media accounts to help evangelize the charity’s message. As subscribers complete the HR.com purchase and charity selection process, they’ll be presented with pre-populated content, complete with the name of the charity and a prompt to leave a few words stating why they selected that cause. This approach encourages subscribers to add another layer of support by lending their voice as well as their donation.
“The events of the past 24-months have revealed just how vulnerable and interdependent we all are,” says McGrath. “Employers and employees alike understand that we must all become more active and supportive of those who are in need. We’re proud to team up with One Donation, create giving programs at scale, and lead this charge within the HR community.”
