The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) is celebrating a significant milestone, its 50th anniversary, with a heartfelt initiative that underscores the industry's dedication to community support and innovation. In partnership with Care Camps, CRVA has launched a nationwide fundraising campaign aimed at supporting children battling cancer. This initiative not only highlights the association's half-century of leadership in the recreational vehicle industry but also its commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
At the heart of this campaign is a 2025 25' Citation Reward Travel Trailer, generously donated by General Coach Canada, a longstanding member of CRVA. The RV, wrapped in a custom design and featuring a QR code for donations, will serve as a mobile fundraiser, with all proceeds directly benefiting Care Camps. The trailer's journey begins at the Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show in February 2025, where it will be unveiled to the public, offering raffle tickets to attendees. Following the show, the RV will tour across Canada, making appearances at various festivals and events, thereby maximizing its fundraising potential and visibility.
This anniversary celebration is not just about looking back at CRVA's achievements over the past 50 years but also about setting a precedent for the future. The association has planned several commemorative activities, including the introduction of a special 50th-anniversary logo, historical retrospectives honoring key figures in the industry, and advocacy campaigns that reaffirm CRVA's commitment to upholding industry standards and safety. These efforts reflect the association's role in fostering growth and innovation within the Canadian RV industry.
Roger Faulkner, President of General Coach Canada, and Shane Devenish, CRVA's President, have both emphasized the significance of this milestone and the charitable initiative. Their statements highlight CRVA's vital role in strengthening the industry and its commitment to giving back to the community. Gwynn Sullivan, Executive Director of Care Camps Foundation, has expressed profound gratitude for the partnership, which will enable more children with cancer to experience the joy and adventure of specialized outdoor camps.
As CRVA embarks on the next 50 years, its focus remains clear: promoting the RV lifestyle, supporting industry growth, and continuing to make a positive impact on communities across Canada. This anniversary initiative serves as a powerful reminder of the industry's potential to drive change and bring hope to those facing challenges, setting a benchmark for corporate social responsibility in the recreational vehicle sector.
