SageHome Inc., the largest provider of aging-in-place bath remodeling services in the United States, has appointed Aaron Carmack as its new Chief Operating Officer. This strategic addition to the executive team comes as SageHome seeks to accelerate its growth and expand its national presence across 24 states.
Carmack brings over three decades of sales and operations experience in the retail home improvement sector to his new role. His career includes a 12-year tenure at Home Depot, where he served as Regional Vice President for the Midwest and Pacific North regions, overseeing more than 100 stores. He also briefly led Home Depot's Canadian operation and managed Home Depot Home Services, which comprised three subsidiaries offering nationwide installation services.
Most recently, Carmack served as COO at Rogers Electric, a national electrical contractor operating across 48 states, where he was responsible for driving sales and operations strategies. His expertise in scaling businesses and managing large-scale operations will be crucial as SageHome pursues ambitious growth plans through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
As SageHome's new COO, Carmack will lead the company's core operations functions and oversee the General Managers of each of SageHome's seven trading brands. These regional brands include Carefree Home Pros in Connecticut and Massachusetts (carefreehomepros.com), Colorado Living in Colorado and Wyoming (getcoloradoliving.com), Midwest Bath Company across Illinois, Iowa, and South Dakota (midwestbath.com), New Bath Today serving multiple states including Indiana, Michigan, and Florida (newbathtoday.com), One Day Bath in Utah and Montana (onedaybath.com), Safe Showers across Texas (safeshowers.com), and Smart Bath serving Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina (smartbath.com).
Joe Gorman, SageHome's President and CEO, expressed enthusiasm for Carmack's appointment, noting that his proven track record in operational excellence complements the strengths of the executive team. Carmack will work closely with Gorman to scale the business and generate further growth to fulfill SageHome's ambitions in the aging-in-place market.
Carmack shared his excitement about joining SageHome, stating that the company offers exactly the type of opportunity that motivates him. He noted that SageHome is well-structured, has a compelling value proposition, and has the backing of supportive investors, positioning it to capitalize on numerous growth opportunities.
For HR vendors and talent management professionals, this appointment signals SageHome's serious commitment to scaling operations and expanding its national footprint. The hiring of an executive with Carmack's extensive retail home improvement background suggests the company is adopting proven operational models from larger retail chains to manage its distributed regional brand structure. This could create new partnership opportunities for HR technology and service providers as SageHome expands its workforce across multiple states.
The aging-in-place home modification industry represents a growing market as demographic shifts increase demand for senior-friendly living spaces. SageHome's focus on bathroom remodeling addresses a critical safety need, as most senior slips, falls, and injuries occur in bathrooms. With Carmack's operational leadership, the company is positioned to strengthen its market leadership while making a significant societal impact through safer home environments for aging populations.
