Office Evolution is expanding its Jacksonville-Town Center location, adding nearly 3,000 square feet to bring more offices, amenities, and technology to the space at 5011 Gate Parkway. This marks the second expansion in four years spearheaded by franchise owner Michael Wielgus, who owns two other Office Evolution locations on the First Coast. The expansion responds to growing demand from professionals seeking to work near where they live and limit their commute, offering a more cost-effective way to do business with turnkey, on-demand solutions.
More businesses are coming to Jacksonville and setting up small satellite offices with Office Evolution, while others are using meeting rooms to unite in-office and work-from-home employees. Scheduled to welcome new and existing members in early 2026, the expansion will increase the Town Center space from 10,562 to 13,549 square feet, adding 14 individual and team offices. When completed, the location will feature 56 offices, three conference rooms, two private phone booths, a coworking lounge, two community kitchens, and a mail center.
Technology enhancements include a private VLAN, dedicated fiber internet circuit with commercial grade ethernet/WiFi, and an Atlas Sound Masking System for noise reduction and voice privacy. Members will have 24/7 secure access with an entry fob. Wielgus and his wife, Kelly, opened the Town Center location in April 2018 and expanded it for the first time in 2021 to accommodate high demand. They subsequently added two additional locations: Jacksonville-Bartram in 2020 and Jacksonville-Brooklyn/Riverside in 2023.
Collectively, the three sites support over 800 small businesses, solopreneurs, and enterprise companies, representing more than 1,300 members across industries including transportation/logistics, financial services, legal services, real estate, and information technology. The expansion reflects broader trends in workplace flexibility, with businesses increasingly seeking satellite offices and hybrid work solutions. The company, founded in 2003, operates as part of Vast Coworking Group, which includes Venture X and Intelligent Office brands and represents the world's largest privately-owned franchisor of coworking spaces. Additional company information is available at https://www.vastcoworking.com. For HR vendors, this expansion signals continued strong demand for flexible workspace solutions that support distributed teams and hybrid work models. The growth of satellite offices in suburban locations like Jacksonville's Town Center area demonstrates how workplace strategies are evolving to prioritize employee convenience and reduced commuting while maintaining professional infrastructure.
The technology investments in private networks, dedicated fiber internet, and sound masking systems indicate that providers are competing on both location convenience and technological sophistication. This creates opportunities for HR technology vendors whose solutions integrate with these advanced workspace environments. The expansion's focus on serving diverse industries from transportation to information technology suggests that flexible workspace solutions are becoming mainstream across business sectors, not just among technology startups or creative professionals.
With over 800 businesses supported across three locations, Office Evolution's growth in Jacksonville provides a case study in how workspace providers are scaling to meet demand while maintaining service quality. For vendors selling into the HR industry, this expansion underscores the importance of developing products and services that support distributed workforces and flexible office arrangements. The continued investment in physical workspace infrastructure, even as remote work remains prevalent, suggests that hybrid models requiring both home and office solutions will persist as a dominant workplace strategy.
