Aligned Data Centers has donated $100,000 to the mikeroweWORKS Foundation to support workforce development in skilled trades essential for building and maintaining critical data center infrastructure. The contribution directly funds scholarship programs that provide training and certifications for careers in welding, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other high-demand trades.
Michael Morris, Chief Development Officer of Aligned Data Centers, emphasized the growing need for skilled professionals in critical infrastructure sectors. "Our partnership with the mikeroweWORKS Foundation is a direct investment in the future workforce that will build, operate, and maintain the complex, high-performance data centers essential for AI, cloud, and enterprise applications," Morris stated. The donation supports Aligned's broader Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives focused on education and workforce development.
The mikeroweWORKS Foundation, created by television personality Mike Rowe, addresses America's skilled labor gap through its Work Ethic Scholarship Program. Rowe noted, "The principles of hard work, determination, and respect for others are always in demand and a big part of our Work Ethic Scholarship Program. I'm grateful to Aligned for their generous support and helping make this our largest scholarship program to date." The foundation has granted $16 million in scholarships since its inception to individuals pursuing training for skilled jobs in high demand.
This investment comes at a critical time when the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high-performance computing workloads requires sophisticated data center infrastructure. The skilled trades supported by these scholarships are fundamental to constructing and maintaining the facilities that power digital transformation across industries.
