Emerald Cruises & Tours has announced the successful completion of sea trials for its new super yacht Emerald Kaia in Halong Bay, Vietnam. The trials confirmed the vessel's performance, maneuverability, and seaworthiness, paving the way for its inaugural sailing scheduled for April 2026.
The 128-guest yacht will debut with an 11-day itinerary from Limassol, Cyprus, to the Acropolis, offering what the company describes as a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Emerald Kaia features expansive lounges, terraces, and decks decorated with Missoni decor and furnishings, along with new interconnecting suites designed for families and groups. The vessel includes an all-new Observation Sun Deck with an additional Spa Pool, sun loungers, and shaded areas for guests to enjoy coastal views and sunset toasts at sea.
Notable amenities include an innovative indoor/outdoor gym adjacent to the marina platform, allowing guests to exercise with sea air and swim directly from the platform. The yacht will debut a redesigned signature restaurant La Cucina with a vibrant open kitchen concept and introduce the Night Market Grill, an intimate private dining experience for eight guests available at additional cost.
James Griffiths, Scenic Group General Manager of Ocean Operations, stated that the sea trial delivered excellent results and allows the company to proceed with final commissioning with confidence. With sea trials complete, Emerald Kaia now moves toward final fittings and delivery before joining sister yachts Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara in the Emerald Yacht Cruises fleet.
The vessel represents part of Scenic Group's broader expansion, with future sister yachts Emerald Raiya scheduled for 2027 and Emerald Xara for 2028.
