Global Tax Network (GTN), a leading mobility tax services firm, announced the retirement of Managing Director Jennifer Stein, effective August 1, 2024. Stein’s departure ends a 13-year tenure with the company and caps a distinguished 25-year career in expatriate and foreign national tax preparation and consulting.
Stein joined GTN in January 2011, bringing extensive experience, including two periods living in Europe. This background provided her with insights into the needs of international assignees, enabling her to address complex tax challenges with nuanced understanding. Throughout her tenure, Stein was recognized for her technical tax knowledge, her ability to guide clients through overseas employee assignments, and her expertise in Home and Host country reporting.
Eric Loff, GTN President, praised Stein’s contributions: “Jen’s impact on GTN since joining our team has been profound and far-reaching. She has been instrumental in fostering a client-centric environment and cultivating a culture of excellence and dedication.” Loff highlighted Stein’s embodiment of GTN’s core values, particularly her ability to collaborate for the benefit of clients and team members.
Beyond client-facing responsibilities, Stein played a crucial role in nurturing staff and fostering a supportive environment that encouraged professional growth. Her mentorship helped build a strong, knowledgeable team at GTN, leaving an indelible mark on the organization.
Reflecting on her time at GTN, Stein said, “One of my greatest joys has been cultivating friendships with many of our clients. The support and camaraderie from my colleagues at GTN has been invaluable throughout my GTN journey.”
Stein’s retirement signifies a significant transition for GTN and the broader field of international tax consulting. Her expertise and client-focused approach contributed to GTN’s reputation as a leader in mobility tax services. The firm has received industry awards, including recognition from Accounting Today as one of the “Best Accounting Firms to Work For” and from INSIDE Public Accounting as one of the “Best of the Best Firms.”
Stein looks forward to traveling, spending time with family and friends, and pursuing personal interests such as reading and potentially learning German. Her departure leaves big shoes to fill at GTN but sets a high standard for future leaders in international tax consulting.
GTN, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with employees based throughout the United States, continues to focus on empowering people to live and work anywhere in the world.
