Richardson, TX – November 15, 2013 – HRsmart, a leading provider of global, unified talent management solutions, today announced that it has delivered the first installment of a multi- part donation relief fund for the people of the Philippines. HRsmart has committed that for every $1 raised by its employees, it will donate $3 to bring clean water, food, and medical aid to the Philippines. To date, HRsmart’s employees have collected $3000 USD, bringing the total donation of $9000 USD to the Red Cross in the Philippines for Haiyan relief.
Super Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines on Friday with wind speeds up to 195 mph, and gusts up to 230 mph. Haiyan was one of the strongest typhoons ever recorded. Grief and hunger dominate the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. According to the Philippine government, Haiyan destroyed at least 80,000 homes, leaving over 582,000 people homeless and more than 2 million people needing food, clean water, and medical attention.
“We encourage our partners and clients to donate and help our friends in Philippines,” said Mark Hamdan, CEO of HRsmart. “The biggest threat to the survivors is the slowness in delivery of aid, so we must act now.”
Please make your donations to the Philippine Red Cross, or your preferred charity to lend a helping hand in the relief efforts after Typhoon Haiyan.
