New York, NY — June 16, 2010 – JWT INSIDE, one of the world’s leading employment marketing and internal communications companies, tweeted live as they hosted a networking event and book release reception for THE 2020 WORKPLACE: How Innovative Companies Attract, Develop, and Keep Tomorrow’s Employees Today, by Jeanne C. Meister & Karie Willyerd, at the offices of JWT NY, on Monday, May 24th, 6pm.
THE 2020 WORKPLACE presents a compelling vision of our future workplace, showcasing how seismic shifts in play today will transform the working world. By 2020 global access to markets and talent will reshape business; social media will connect employees, customers, and partners for immediate communication and five generations will be working side-by-side in organizations.
The cocktail reception welcomed key stakeholders in the future workplace — VIP’s in the fields of recruitment, internal communications and learning & development — to network with each other on the very real and relevant topic of what the workplace will look like in ten years. It was fittingly hosted in the “futuristic” space of JWT, an environment designed to move away from individual production and towards networked creativity — with workspaces that look like living rooms and its own bar (setting of this event) reminiscent of a new “W” in midtown.
Jeanne C. Meister and JWT INSIDE welcomed attendees with their free signed copy of THE 2020 WORKPLACE and an invitation to join the live conversation on the event via Twitter by posting a tweet with @JWT_INSIDE. A live stream of tweets both from the JWT_INSIDE account and anyone who mentioned @JWT_INSIDE was broadcast on a large screen at the center of the event.
Attendees excitedly got involved; twitting their comments from the event, and watching them appear live on the big screen. All the while JWT INSIDE brought minute to minute details, including excerpts from the brief presentation by Jeanne, Karie and Rob Quish, CEO, JWT INSIDE on the book and the journey writing it. Rob stated in his introduction to the authors, “I like being around people who want to do what’s next first; people who share what they’re curious about, afraid of, and excited by!”

Meister, co-author of THE 2020 WORKPLACE. “The launch party was a home run!”
Author Karie Willyerd closed the presentation saying, “It takes a company with vision for the future to even appreciate thinking about the future. So, I think we’re even more honored to be able to be at JWT INSIDE and to be a part of the event here tonight, so thank you very much for hosting us.”
