With clients in virtually all industry groups, Effective Resources saw the need for employers to provide more local details in order to attract and retain workers within Tennessee, rather than use regional or national averages. Effective Resources has been providing annual salary surveys for employers since 1993. The survey provides employers with the information they need to make sound business decisions by comparing themselves to others in their industry, location and size.
“Base pay increases will be non-existent in about 30 percent of Tennessee employers,” explained Barry L. Brown, President. “This tracks pretty closely with national numbers of 30 to 40 percent. Among the highlights of the last survey:
– The overall average monthly employee turnover rate is 2.3 percent for Tennessee employers, which is quite low as compared to the national average of 3.6 percent as of July 2009.
– The survey showed that about 70 percent of Tennessee employers planned a merit increase for next year. Including all employers (including zero merit increase), the average merit projected for next year is 2.5 percent.
