June 7, 2012 — WorldatWork has awarded its 2011 Local Association of the Year Award to the Charlotte Area Compensation Council (CACC). In its third year, the award honors one compensation, benefits and total rewards group in the WorldatWork Local Network for its outstanding support of the profession in the local community and partnership with WorldatWork.
Founded in 1992, CACC has grown to be a strong association. Thanks to CACC’s membership recruitment efforts, solid professional development programs and strong networking activities, CACC membership grew 14 percent and total revenue grew 38 percent from 2010 to 2011.
CACC was commended for the following:
• Mentorship program: CACC has a well-established, nationally recognized mentor/mentee program that receives high scores from participants. It consistently has 12-15 mentor/mentee teams.
• Member engagement: CACC members are actively engaged. In 2011, CACC enjoyed a 60 percent attendance rate at quarterly meetings. In addition, CACC has more than 20 members actively involved as CACC board and committee members.
• Community involvement: CACC spotlights a charity at each membership meeting. In 2011, CACC members donated items and made financial contributions to four charities: 1) “Dress for Success Charlotte,” 2) “The Charlotte Rescue Mission,” 3) “Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina” and 4) “Classroom Central.”
“CACC is a great example of how effective a local association can be when it has engaged members willing to share information and help others solve problems,” said Lisa Levey, senior manager for public education at WorldatWork. “It is notable that even during the economic downturn, CACC remained financially stable. We are proud to partner with them and recognize all their achievements.”
As the WorldatWork Local Network Local Association of the Year, CACC received a $1,000 cash award and will have a complimentary WorldatWork speaker at an upcoming member meeting.
