The Military Spouse Advocacy Network (MSAN) and ZeroMils have announced a strategic partnership to launch the Military Spouse Leadership Development Program Alumni Network (MSLDPAN), aimed at supporting graduates of MSAN's leadership program. This initiative responds to alumni demand for continued networking and development opportunities.
According to a recent survey of MSLDP alumni, 97% sought increased networking opportunities, 98% expressed interest in virtual workshops and webinars, and nearly 60% desired mentorship support. The MSLDPAN will address these needs through monthly meetings, virtual events, and a dedicated mentor network sourced from corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors.
Verenice Castillo, CEO of MSAN, highlighted the partnership's potential: "The knowledge, experience, and mentorship MSLDP Alumni bring will make a significant impact on their journeys, and those of their military spouse peers. Joining forces with ZeroMils will allow us to create a stronger military spouse community as we connect and thrive together!"
Kevin Schmiegel, CEO of ZeroMils, noted, "This strategic partnership aligns perfectly with our goals of creating Military Thriving cultures and communities. We look forward to working even more closely with MSAN to shine a spotlight on their meaningful work, creating opportunities for military spouse changemakers to lead, excel and make a positive impact."
For HR vendors, this partnership signals a growing market for services and platforms that support military spouse employment and development. Military spouses represent a highly educated and mobile workforce segment, and initiatives like MSLDPAN can help employers tap into this talent pool while fostering loyalty and retention. The focus on mentorship and networking also underscores the importance of peer support in professional growth, which vendors can leverage in their own offerings.
The MSLDPAN will organize both in-person and virtual events to strengthen alumni relationships and highlight their leadership contributions. By creating a structured network, the partnership aims to amplify the impact of military spouses within their communities and beyond. As these leaders continue to develop, they are expected to inspire and support other military families, contributing to a more resilient military community overall.
