AI Interviewing: A Lesson Learned
We tried AI-based interviewing to save time. Candidates answered automated questions, and AI analyzed responses. However, we realized this approach lacks a human touch. We stopped using it for initial contact, preferring in-person connections instead. The first interaction is crucial for mutual assessment and better candidate filtering. That experience has demonstrated to us that we should be careful with advancements in HR technology and test them thoroughly before full implementation.
Nevertheless, we keep using GenAI to assist our human Talent Acquisition Specialists with writing job descriptions, which allows them to do it faster and produce twice as much engaging copy. I must say that here a human plays a central role as well, because without the strategic edits, those job descriptions cannot be used anyhow.
Also, AI-powered data analytics makes the process of streamlining and deciphering the HR performance metrics three times faster for us. And we get ready for even more experiments with HR tech by currently validating ideas for our own CV processing tool and assessing external solutions for full-cycle recruitment integration. Combining these strategies will help us fill open positions faster and bring better candidates to the table at the same time.

Monthly Tech Pilots With Junior Involvement
We’ve adopted an “app of the month” approach to keeping up with new HR technology. Every month, we’ll choose one new service to pilot, ideally one with a free trial version, and if it shows promise compared to our existing practices, we’ll consider adopting it. We handle this task on a rotating basis, and it gives some of our junior employees an opportunity to shine while also tapping into their more recent and up-to-date training. The most recent change we made was adopting Pinpoint’s blind-recruitment software to eliminate bias in hiring.

Employee Feedback Shapes Tech Adoption
Our finding was that asking for feedback from employees about new technologies, and being willing to adapt based on their input, has been absolutely critical in our success. For example, when we rolled out a new performance-management system, we received significant feedback from managers and employees at all levels. The input was invaluable in evaluating how the system could be modified to best meet the needs of our organization.
As a result, we made some tweaks that made the tool more straightforward and effective. These changes made the performance review process more workable and less cumbersome, and made employee interactions with the tool more intuitive, which encouraged their buy-in. In the end, it wasn’t just the tool that was deployed, but also the process and organization that made the technology work and become part of the organization’s functioning, improving performance management and overall productivity.

Ideathons Drive HR Tech Innovation
One of the most effective ways I’ve managed to keep up is by participating in ideathons. These events bring together industry experts, tech innovators, and HR professionals to brainstorm and develop cutting-edge solutions to current challenges. This helps me gain insights into the latest trends and technologies, and actively contribute to shaping future developments.
A recent ideathon I attended focused on integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into the recruitment process. During the event, we collaborated on designing an AI-powered platform that could automate resume screening, conduct initial candidate assessments, and even schedule interviews.
This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of these advanced technologies and highlighted the practical applications and benefits they could bring to our organization.
Overall, participating in ideathons has proven to be an invaluable way to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving world of HR technology.

Proactive Learning and AI Platform Adoption
Staying current with rapid changes in HR technology requires a proactive approach, including continuous learning and networking with industry professionals. I make it a point to attend relevant webinars and read up on the latest trends and tools.
For example, recently, I adopted a new AI-driven HR platform that streamlines recruitment by automating candidate screening and enhancing the matching process. This tool has significantly improved our efficiency in identifying top talent and has allowed us to focus more on strategic aspects of HR, rather than getting bogged down by administrative tasks. Keeping up with such advancements helps maintain a competitive edge and optimizes overall HR operations.
