At RoMan Manufacturing, we take the time to acknowledge significant milestones in a team member’s career, such as service awards for every five years served, promotions, or graduation from our apprenticeship program. While these moments are certainly noteworthy, they leave a gap when it comes to recognizing the many accomplishments that occur in less visible circumstances, such as daily teamwork, innovative problem-solving, or acts of leadership.
To bridge this gap between large-scale successes and impactful yet subtle achievements, we implemented a peer-to-peer recognition platform in 2019. This initiative empowers team members to recognize each other in meaningful ways, allowing these acknowledgments to be visible throughout the leadership structure—something that was not possible prior to this implementation.
Five years on, we are proud to maintain an 80% participation rate in our peer-to-peer recognition system. This high level of engagement speaks to the effectiveness of our approach and highlights the importance of inclusivity in recognition practices.
