TAMPA, Fla. — September 28, 2010 — HealthcareSource®, the leading provider of talent management software solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced winners of the HealthcareSource ASHHRA “New to the Profession” grant. Winners were presented with a grant to host their attendance of the ASHHRA 46th Annual Conference and Exhibition this week in Tampa, Fla.
“We believe quality talent results in quality care,” said Peter Segall, chief executive officer, HealthcareSource. “And attracting, developing and retaining quality talent requires tremendous effort from human resources professionals. Since we work with over 1,000 hospitals and nearly 10,000 healthcare HR professionals, we see every day the impact that healthcare HR professionals have on improving our nation’s healthcare. This is just a small way to pay tribute to their hard work and dedication.
The HealthcareSource ASHHRA “New to the Profession” grant underscores the major milestones being made by professionals in the field that have demonstrated significant accomplishments during their first five years or less in the industry. We are proud to recognize these dynamic and passionate individuals by hosting their attendance during this year’s ASHHRA conference,” said Segall.
The HealthcareSource ASHHRA “New to the Profession” grant winners are:
• Pearl Ivey, HR representative, Western Maine Health
“I chose to pursue a career in the field of HR in healthcare recently because the transitioning needs of a baby boomer population require swift changes in the current healthcare system from the status quo,” said Ivey. “I am excited to learn new techniques and gain understanding of the industry and organizational challenges during my attendance at the ASHHRA conference. I hope to enhance my own ability to promote the business results of my organization through partnering with the external community and gaining better understanding of the people I serve.”
• Monica Reisner, director of HR, Southern Coos Health District
“Working in health care is, by its very nature, a challenging and rewarding environment,” said Reisner. “Through hard work, perseverance and a willingness to ask questions and connect with other ASHHRA members, I hope to develop skills and experiences that will benefit my employer and have a positive impact on our employees.”
• Amy Schilling, HR assistant, Livingston HealthCare
“It is energizing to be in a job where I am able to work with such a diverse group of people who have so many different roles, all with the same goal in mind — providing quality healthcare,” said Schilling. “I know that ASHHRA networking and resources will be a vital part of my career path. The tools that ASHHRA provides to me are invaluable to my current job and will continue to be so as I grow throughout my career.”
In addition to supporting the event through its “New to the Profession” grant sponsorship, HealthcareSource also presented a contribution of $5,000 to the ASHHRA community outreach program, “Dress for Success Tampa Bay” during this week’s conference.
“HealthcareSource is a great corporate partner who has demonstrated a commitment to giving back to the healthcare HR community. ASHHRA appreciates their continued support,” said Stephanie Drake, executive director of ASHHRA.
HealthcareSource also highlighted two new, innovative software solutions at the conference’s exhibition. HealthcareSource Interview ManagerSM, powered by HireVue, makes it easy to hire better talent faster, and gives organizations a competitive edge and at the same time builds up a talent pool of candidates. The solution allows screening of candidates using video interviewing, drastically cutting time and cost from recruiting processes while giving hiring managers powerful insight into candidates early in the process.
HealthcareSource Physician Recruitment ManagerSM formerly known as Medearc, is a simple to use, intuitive and affordable physician applicant tracking system for hospital systems, multi-specialty groups, single-specialty groups and academia. It is web-based and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. It was designed by physician recruiters with other physician recruiters in mind. It automates candidate screening, pre-credentialing and referencing, produces recruitment reports that measure and optimize workflow.
