GUELPH, Ontario — Sept. 21, 2011 — In keeping with the spirit of its upcoming book on innovation, Juice Inc. invites readers to participate in the creative process, chapter by chapter. “Innovation in a Box” is chock-full of useful information on the innovation process, equipping readers with the knowledge and skills to generate new ideas and breakthrough solutions.
“Innovation in a Box” is a visually engaging graphic guide to business innovation based on the training program of the same name. Innovation is often too narrowly defined as brainstorming and is considered the domain of “creative” types. Not so fast, says Juice. Given the right tools, breakthrough thinking is accessible to everyone in an organization. Innovation in a Box™ provides those tools.
Juice will offer up each new chapter, about once a month, for review and feedback from readers, until the book is completed in spring of 2012. The idea behind the title “Innovation in a Box” is that each person has “a box” defined by their thinking preferences and strengths. It provides the structure, clarity and tools to innovate effectively. Research demonstrates that a structured approach to innovation leads to a 500 percent increase in useful ideas for an average group, versus a conventional brainstorming session with a “creative” group.
Juice’s design and innovation expert, Rick Boersma, thought inside his artist’s box to create a graphic novel-style business book that’s colorful and engaging.
“Our goal with this book is to provide a `grass roots’ approach to innovation that can be accessed by anyone,” said Boersma. “So it makes perfect sense to solicit feedback at the grass roots level.”
