EDISON, New Jersey / March 5, 2012— The HRO Today Forum and the Startup America Partnership have joined forces to recognize and reward innovations in HR technology with the iTalent Competition, to be held on May 2 during the sixth annual HRO Today Forum in Washington, D.C.
The HRO Today Forum and the Startup America Partnership are looking for entries in two categories:
• HR, recruiting and talent management technology innovations that are helping businesses recruit, hire and develop employees; and
• HR and recruiting technology startups that are creating job growth.
The Startup America Partnership is based on a simple premise: young companies that grow create jobs. As a core American value, entrepreneurship is critical to the country’s long-term success. The Partnership strives to provide valuable resources and connections to help young companies grow, support regional startup ecosystems, and recognize startups as the drivers of the U.S. economy and their founders as American heroes.
Entries will need to include contact information, a brief description of their technology and why they want to compete, and a one-minute creative video pitch highlighting why they should be selected. The top five entries selected by the HRO Today Forum and the Startup America Partnership will then compete in the iTalent Competition at this year’s HRO Today Forum. The finalists will give 10-minute pitches on HR innovation/job growth before a plenary audience and panel of HR technology experts, industry analysts, HR practitioners and technology investors. The audience will then vote to select the winner.
The iTalent winner will receive a number of promotional benefits, including face-time with the judging panel including investors, one-on-one meetings with attending HR executives, a feature article in HRO Today magazine promoting the winning company and the innovative technology, and a free ad in an upcoming issue of HRO Today magazine.
The top 10 entries will all be invited to participate in the Big Idea iTalent Networking event later that same day, talking directly with HR officers about the challenges of today’s workforce, sustainable job growth and the technology innovations that can help spur that growth.
“Innovation is the lifeblood of business,” said Elliot Clark, Chief Executive Officer of SharedXpertise, producers of the HRO Today Forum, “and one of the key factors that can create real economic growth. The Startup America Partnership shares a vision for encouraging entrepreneurship, and our goal for the iTalent Competition is to identify and applaud innovative thinking.”
