HRSG Sponsors First Ever Full Scale Conference on Lean Government

OTTAWA, CAN / September 20, 2012 — Practitioners and subject matter experts in Lean Enterprise will convene in Canada’s National Capital Regions for a two-day summit to share and discuss how they have successfully implemented Lean practices in government. Aimed at helping organizations learn to deliver faster, better and cheaper while engaging their staff, the 2012 Lean Summit comes at a time where public sector organizations are under tremendous pressure to cut budgets, increase capacity and continue delivering effective services to the public. “Participants of the conference will have the opportunity to learn what has and hasn’t worked from people who have done this in both Canadian and American Government departments,” says Craig Szelestowski, President, Lean Agility Inc., “I am very excited to be able to bring so many notable speakers and subject matter experts together at this first of its kind event in Canada.”

Spread over two days, the summit includes a pre-conference master workshop led by Lean Six Sigma expert Craig Szelestowski, where participants will get a hands-on learning experience of what Lean is and how it can be implemented in their government department/agency. The second day of the event will feature a series of presentations and question and answer sessions delivered by a range of experts and practitioners of Lean Enterprise, including the keynote presentation by Dr. Deborah Nightingale, Co-Director, Lean Advancement Initiative, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

As a sponsor of the event, HRSG will be participating in the trade show attached to the conference. Participants will have the opportunity to assess their Lean Competencies and understand what competencies are required to implement lean business processes and improve financial performance. Visit HRSG at their booth on October 18 to conduct the live self-assessment and to get more information on Lean competencies.
