DALLAS/FT. WORTH – JUNE 27, 2013 – Insala LLC, a leading global provider of talent management solutions, will conduct a survey this summer in order to perform critical market research about organizational career development activities, habits, methodologies and philosophies. The survey was released today, Thursday, June 27, and will run until Friday, September 27. A full report will be made available to all participants, and all significant findings will be published in a whitepaper to follow.
The survey will target an audience of HR professionals and executives who are involved with a career development initiative at their organization. Designed to collect data on differing trends according to organization type and size, as well as type of employee selected to participate in the career development initiative, the survey will include questions regarding:
– Organizational career development strategy and objectives
– The effectiveness of different career development activities
– Use and effectiveness of different career development program management tools
A similar survey was conducted by Insala in 2012. Key findings included that traditional training, while highly rated in terms of popularity and effectiveness, was not as highly rated as one-to-one mentoring, performance-driven coaching, or situational challenges, indicating a preference for a learning style that is both collaborative and aimed at high-performers. Meanwhile, less than half of respondents reported using technology as part of their career development program.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the difference between this year’s and last year’s results,” said Stephen Grindrod, director of operations at Insala. “With the recent interest in social media technologies to support learning and development within organizations, it will be interesting to find out if there has been a shift from the traditional learning activities that organizations have been doing for many years.”
