Minneapolis, January 18, 2010 — Ceridian Corporation, a leading provider of managed human resource, employee benefits administration, tax filing and payroll outsourcing solutions, announced today it was named a Finalist in three 2010 Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service categories: Customer Service Department of the Year, Customer Service Leader of the Year, and Best Use of Technology in Customer Service. The fourth annual awards are presented by the Stevie Awards, which organizes several of the world’s leading business awards shows including the prestigious American Business Awards.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners will be announced during a gala banquet at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida on Monday, February 22. Nominated customer service and sales executives from the U.S. and several other countries are expected to attend.
More than 500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted to this year’s competition.
“This year Ceridian entered in three categories and was chosen a Finalist in each of them,” commented Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “That means our judges, independent business executives, recognized Ceridian’s customer service efforts, expertise and improvements in more than one area, which is quite an accomplishment.”

Some of the `measurable efforts’ to which Mike Shea refers include call response time reductions of 43 percent, customer satisfaction increases of 14 percent, and 20 point increases in Net Promoter Scores (NPS). NPS surveys existing customers and asks them to use a 10 point scale to rate their willingness to recommend Ceridian products and services to their business colleagues.

Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists.
