Ottawa, ON (May 16, 2018) — We are excited to announce that our CEO Dr. Suzanne Simpson is the winner of the Sara Kirke Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This award recognizes leading women executives who have shown the most outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership. The purpose of the Award is to celebrate those that have significantly expanded the frontiers of Canada’s advanced technology industry, and to create positive role models for women.
This award is one of many given each year by Canadian Women in Technology (CanWIT), a community network of The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATAAlliance) designed to increase women’s participation in the technology sector. Presented at the Annual CATA Innovation Gala on May 15th, 2018, in Ottawa, the Sara Kirke Award exemplifies the very best of women entrepreneurs. “I am honored to be this year’s recipient of the Sara Kirke Award, as I have always strived to be a positive example to all women in business,” says Suzanne. “CATA is doing a great job of recognizing the amazing achievements of inspiring women entrepreneurs.”
“Suzanne is well-deserving of this award, as her entire career has been focused on researching, designing and implementing systems where all individuals have equal opportunities to achieve success in their careers,” says Andrew Moffat, Chief Operations Officer of HRSG. Suzanne’s early work with the Canadian Military was instrumental in expanding women’s opportunities and has forever changed the role of women in the Canadian Forces.
