Houston, Texas, September 20, 2017 -The Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) has recognized Birkman as an official SHRM Recertification Provider, a pronouncement that identifies the company as offering high-quality learning opportunities for HR professionals. All facilitator led trainings, webinars, and self-paced eLearning courses offered at a cost are now eligible to receive professional development credits that can be put towards renewing SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials. This distinction comes just one month after Birkman Signature Certification was awarded with credit hours for Continuing Coach Education (CCE) by the International Coach Federation.
SHRM is the world’s largest HR professional society, dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of HR professionals through industry-leading support, education, thought leadership, and advocacy. SHRM Certification is a globally-recognized credential, with over 100,000 HR professionals holding credentials in over 104 countries. The Recertification Provider Program was established by SHRM to give organizations the opportunity to award professional development credits (PDCs) for qualified activities, without pre-approval, during a 2-year period.
Anyone who completes a facilitator led training, webinar, or self-paced eLearning course through Birkman after August 9, 2017 will earn PDC credits. Each training hour attended will translate to 1 PDC credit.
Dan Perryman, Vice President of Training and Consultant Development at Birkman, has been a fundamental proponent in the development of new curriculum for the Birkman training department. He shares, “This designation reflects the time and resources we commit to creating our training courses. Our core focus has always been to develop people, and becoming a SHRM Recertification Provider speaks to our mission to help others be better versions of themselves. We will continue developing training courses that help HR professionals get the knowledge and skills they need to better understand the people on their teams, while also giving them the confidence to extend that knowledge to others.”
Sharon Birkman has led Birkman towards notable awards and accreditations since becoming President and CEO 15 years ago. She says, “Becoming a SHRM Recertification Provider is something that we have been striving to achieve for several years, and this award reflects how seriously we focus on training at Birkman. We are thrilled to offer resources that not only help people better understand themselves and those around them, but also assist in professional advancement.”
