It’s clear that social media is here to stay. Most employers agree that participation and monitoring the social media realm is essential to develop a voice and trust with potential candidates. However, many recruiters are stuck with trying to navigate this realm on their own, with no clear direction on how to overcome obstacles or how to utilize social recruiting solutions without letting it overwhelm their workload. Kasey Sixt, Vice President of Branding and Social Media Initiatives at the global recruitment marketing agency, CKR Interactive, will be presenting at this year’s Onrec.com Expo to shed some light on the matter.
Sixt’s session will provide recruiters with valuable information on how to get started with social recruiting, including how to work with executive management to get their buy in and remove obstacles such as blocked social networking sites, and will break down the common misconceptions in the social recruiting arena. The presentation will share a client’s experience in launching their social recruiting and branding efforts, and how they worked with CKR Interactive to build a successful social media marketing program.
“The world of social media can be pretty overwhelming for a recruiter, with the ever-changing landscape of tools and best practices,” shared Sixt. “My goal is to show how social recruiting can be fun, and what social media solutions are available to make a recruiter’s life easier. Creating content and managing your online presence does not have to be as difficult as it seems!”
Sixt’s presentation will be an excellent follow-up for those who have had the opportunity to attend one of her sessions before. She recently presented well-received knowledge sessions, including “The Power of Online Video and the Social Web” at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) conference and “Video & the Social Web: A Powerful, Eco-Friendly and Cost-Effective Duo for Recruitment Communications & Employer Branding” at the Staffing Management Conference & Exposition hosted by Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
The Onrec event, which will be held September 14-16 in Chicago, will provide information and learning which sourcers, recruiters and HR practitioners can implement immediately — as well as support their organization’s long-term staffing efforts. The conference sessions will offer expert insight into best practices, current trends, market influences, metrics, statistics and today’s talent pool.
Those attending the event can stop by booth 413 to speak with Kasey Sixt, as well as CKR Interactive’s Northeast Regional Manager, Steven Haworth, and Account Manager and international recruitment specialist, Michelle Ferreira.
