Ottawa, ON — February 18, 2010 — Halogen Software today announced its award winning talent management solutions have been selected by the City of Henderson, Nevada. With over 270,000 citizens, the City, like many other progressive municipalities understands the importance of using effective talent management to enhance employee engagement and performance, and in turn support city goals, such as improved services and sustainability.
Henderson is a dynamic city, providing an exemplary environment in which to work, live, learn, and play. The City is committed to optimizing this environment by attracting, developing, and retaining a talented and diverse workforce that supports its mission. The City opted to move to Halogen for its employee performance and compensation management needs after experiencing difficulties with the flexibility and tracking provided by previous systems. The previous tools also led to poor user engagement and low employee satisfaction with the performance feedback process.
“Halogen was not the first approach we took to remedying our talent management issues, but it will be the last. We tried developing a system in house and tried offerings from other vendors before we implemented Halogen,” said Candace Somers, Manager of Organization Development & Training with the City of Henderson. “Once our team and the executives saw the Halogen demo there was immediate consensus that it met or exceeded all our needs— that is very unusual for us.”
Henderson wanted a talent management solution that would quickly, easily and effectively link individual goals to organizational values. Halogen eAppraisal enables the City to strategically link employee and departmental goals with its core values. This brings instant accountability and greater employee buy in to the entire performance management process. City leaders will now be able to quickly see how each individual is contributing to supporting City values and employees gain a better understanding of those values and how their jobs contribute to the City providing better service and value to citizens.
“We are very excited about the potential of Halogen solutions to revolutionize our performance management process. The City is modernizing and plans on moving to a pay-for-performance compensation model as well,” said Somers. “As we move ahead we will also be implementing Halogen eCompensation, which will further drive our emerging performance-based culture.”
