ENGAGE Talent Adds to Leadership Team Following Record-Setting 2018

CHARLESTON, S.C., January 22, 2019 — ENGAGE Talent is bolstering its leadership team as the AI recruiting company builds off a standout 2018 highlighted by record growth, major product advancements, industry award wins and new funding.

ENGAGE, which enables recruiters to strategically source, target and engage the passive candidates most likely to change jobs, has appointed veteran HR technology executive Matt Pietsch as Chief Revenue Officer and has promoted Christy Whitehead, Ph.D., to Chief Talent Economist.

“To start 2019 with such strong additions to our leadership team speaks volumes about the potential ahead of us,” ENGAGE founder and CEO Joseph Hanna said. “While 2018 was pivotal, these moves give me the utmost confidence that the best is yet to come in our quest to use science to transform how employers source, recruit and hire. Our customers’ support has been overwhelming, and we strive to reward that support with great products and service.”

Pietsch will oversee all sales, marketing, and customer success functions for ENGAGE, which in September was honored by HRExaminer, an independent HR technology analyst firm, as the most interesting AI company in the area of sourcing acceleration. He has helped lead growth efforts for several top HR technology companies over the past 25 years, most recently as head of sales for Talview, an assessment technology solution provider. Previously he served as vice president of global sales for PAN (now PSI True Talent), a leading talent assessment company.

“I’m thrilled to join one of the most innovative companies in the entire HR technology industry, and to have the opportunity to help it grow,” Pietsch said. “It’s impressive how much the team has achieved in such a short time. I look forward to working with the team and with our customers to make ENGAGE the best it can be.”

Whitehead has served as Vice President of Data Science and Product for ENGAGE since April 2017. She leads the data management and science behind ENGAGE’s predictive algorithms and machine learning models. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Clemson University, and has focused her career on employment and labor economics. Her previous experiences include key data science roles with PeopleMatter (acquired by Snag A Job) and Equifax. She is a frequent speaker at HR analytics and machine learning conferences, and is also an active member of the Federal Reserve Roundtable.

“It’s been exhilarating to help develop our science, and then to witness first-hand how much it is helping our customers navigate today’s tight labor market and acquire the talent that they need to succeed,” Whitehead said. “I’m looking forward to working to continue to develop our products for 2019 and beyond.”

The executive team additions follow a landmark 2018 that featured many key developments, including raising $3 million in new funding, expanding the ENGAGE team, and releasing major product innovations such as enhanced Market Intelligence and AI Talent Discovery.
