HCI Inaugurates the Talent Management Award

Washington, D.C. — March 31, 2010 — The Human Capital Institute (HCI) today announced the winner of its inaugural Talent Management Award™ (TMA’s). Originally announced to attendees last week during HCI’s 5th Annual Human Capital Summit, HCI honored Booz Allen Hamilton as the first winner of the award. From a diverse field of nominees, HCI honored the organization for making remarkable strides to improve the science and practice of talent management, both within its own firm and for its government clients.

Over 125 consultants from Booz Allen Hamilton have developed 34 different projects on human capital subjects such as: Defining mission critical operations, succession planning for a governmental agency, redesigning new hire on-boarding programs, mentoring strategies to improve job performance, a talent management maturity model, a gap analysis based on present and future workforce requirements, generational differences and talent management within the intelligence community. These projects have not only improved the quality of human capital practices but have enabled government agencies in accomplishing their missions.

HCI’s Talent Management Achievement (TMA) awards were designed to honor industry peers, and spotlight professionals who are achieving dramatic results in advancing the paradigm and practice of Talent Management. “The award is offered for extraordinary outcomes in talent strategy, acquisition, development and leadership,” noted David Forman, Chief Learning Officer, HCI; “Booz Allen Hamilton has established itself as a model of innovation, practical execution and proven accomplishment.”

Booz Allen Hamilton has a distinguished tradition of providing leading-edge developmental opportunities for its employees. The firm was named to Training Magazine’s Top 10 Hall of Fame and has been named to Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work for” for six consecutive years, and HCI is honored to recognize Booz Allen as the inaugural award winner. Booz Allen Principal Jeff Akin accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
