HeartMath® LLC Announced as Top Three Finalist for 2011 ABBY Award: Healthcare Information and/or Telecommunications Technology – Consumer-Facing

HeartMath® LLC is one of the top three finalists for the 2011 ABBY Award in the category: Healthcare Information and/or Telecommunications Technology – Consumer-Facing. Members of the Adaptive Business Leaders (ABL) Organization will announced the 2011 winners of the Innovations in HealthcareSM ABBY Awards at the 13th Annual Innovations in Healthcare Awards event on September 28th in Long Beach, California.

Exemplifying a high level of commitment to bringing cost effective innovations to the healthcare system, the finalists were chosen by a Committee composed of ABL Members who are C-level healthcare executives with deep domain knowledge in each of the Award areas.

Finalists will provide a video presentation as part of final the selection process. The video presentations are to include a statement of the problem their innovation addresses, the solution their product or service provides, and metrics that provide proof their approach works and that their product or service is saving money within the healthcare system.

“This is the third time that HeartMath has been selected as a top finalist by the ABL Members,” said Bruce Cryer, CEO and President of HeartMath LLC. “We recognize all of the finalists are extremely deserving of this award and we are honored to be one of the top three contenders in our category. We sincerely appreciate this recognition of excellence by the ABL Organization. And, we’re hoping `third time’s the charm’.”

Mimi Grant, President of the ABL Organization, noted, “In this, our 13th year of selecting Finalists for the ABBY Awards, the Committee was truly impressed with the caliber of all the nominees, representing companies from throughout North America. Not only are they all innovative, they have convincingly demonstrated that their products or programs are currently in use in the United States, and have clinical and financial metrics that prove their product or service reduces the cost of providing quality care”

HeartMath’s proven stress reduction programs have resulted in reduced turnover and healthcare costs and improved employee and patient satisfaction. Their newest program, Revitalize You! Resilience Training, provides a powerful video-based online course for both organizations and consumers. The focus is teaching participants how to lower stress while building resilience, well-being and performance. This is achieved through HeartMath’s innovative approach to maximizing heart-brain communication for increased physiological well-being and cognitive performance, combined with real-time feedback on the user’s physiological state. Research has shown that the heart is a primary generator of body rhythms and powerfully influences brain processes that impact the nervous system, cognitive function, and emotional well-being.

HeartMath’s ROI-driven programs are based on research that has demonstrated a critical link between stress, emotions, heart function and cognitive performance, and include a unique combination of practical techniques, the award-winning emWave® heart rhythm feedback technology, and rigorous scientific research. Studies performed over the last 20 years have verified that the HeartMath approach delivers measurable, sustainable results in the workplace.

Catherine Calarco, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HeartMath LLC, added, “Our HeartMath team holds a high regard for all of the ABL members. We genuinely appreciate their support and acknowledgement of HeartMath’s proven outcomes and the added value that our programs and emWave technologies have brought, and continue to bring, to the healthcare industry.”

The 2011 Innovations in Healthcare ABBY Awards are divided into four categories: Healthcare Information and/or Telecommunications Technology — Consumer-Facing; Healthcare Information and/or Telecommunications Technology — Business-Facing; Medical Device; Approaches to the Delivery of Healthcare. The Abby Awards recognize organizations that have demonstrated transformative advances in medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, IT and approaches to providing care and coverage, decreasing the numbers of uninsured, and engaging healthcare consumers more actively in their care and health status, all of which reduces the cost of providing quality healthcare.
