BOULDER, Colo., June 15, 2016 — A four-hour interactive workshop at the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, June 18, will help attendees better understand how they can use workplace analytics to make superior talent-related decisions and enhance HR’s reputation as a business partner.
Titled “Workplace Analytics: Turning Big Data into Actionable Analytics,” the workshop will offer insights into the powerful ways that workplace analytics can be better leveraged by HR–a perennial challenge that HR functions across the world have struggled with. The workshop will feature hands-on experiential exercises and breakout groups for attendees, and will be led by two of OptForce’s thought leaders: Marco Better, Ph.D.,Vice President of Analytics Services and Co-Creator; and Kelly R. Wenzel, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Vice President, Business Development, who has more than 20 years’ strategic HR management experience. OptForce is owned by OptTek, a world leader in simulation optimization.
Attendees will benefit from:
– Improved knowledge of workplace analytics, including clarity on difference from big data.
– An enhanced understanding of how workplace analytics can be applied to prove cost-savings and strategic importance in HR.
– A changed perspective on the value and importance of true workforce planning.
– Specific questions to ask when shopping for a workplace analytics provider.
“We’ve been talking about HR taking its rightful place in the C-suite for a decade, but we’re still not there,” Wenzel said. “Shortcomings in strategic thinking are largely to blame. In this workshop, HR pros will gain an understanding of workplace analytics, which can be a powerful strategic tool not only for HR but for the organization at large.”
With workplace analytics, HR uses empirical data rather than gut-feel or guesswork to make decisions. The result is better talent-related decisions along with significantly improved ROI. “This means HR becomes more strategic and evidence-based, which enhances its value to the C-suite,” Wenzel noted. “And it moves the function away from being a cost center toward becoming a cost-saving center and revenue enhancer.”
The workshop, which takes place a day before the conference officially begins, has a separate $380 registration fee. Registration information is available on the conference website. Space is limited, and only a few slots are still available.
