These strategic appointments signal a shift in HR.com’s approach to better meet the needs of both employers and employees, including increasing engagement with members of the rapidly growing HR.com community.
As General Manager, Rooney will be responsible for general business management. He will work closely with the executive team to help the organization set strategic goals and create a roadmap for augmenting HR.com’s initiatives to provide value-added HR-related products and services to help HR professionals grow and manage their careers and organizations to equip their workforces with the skills and knowledge needed to compete today and into the future.
Charney will be key to driving member and industry engagement through thought leadership and subject matter expertise; and will be responsible for the strategy, and oversight of the HR.com talent acquisition community, including developing research studies, advisory boards, editorial education, and events to position the company as the go-to source for career enrichment and guidance for talent acquisition and recruiting leaders.
“Patrick and Matt share a common goal – to disrupt the talent industry while transforming the human resources function and enabling people leaders to do their jobs more effectively and efficiently,” said Deb McGrath, CEO of HR.com.
“They both have a passion for HR, and care deeply about helping our members, and our industry, find long term success and professional development. We are excited to have both Patrick and Matt on the HR.com team and feel confident they will play critical roles as we continue our record growth in the months and years to come,” McGrath said.
Rooney joins HR.com with over 25 years of experience driving outcome based digital transformation, creating and bringing new products to market, and helping high growth companies achieve success at scale. Most recently, Rooney served as the CEO and founder of Seventh Echo, a consulting firm working with small and midsize technology and professional service firms to accelerate revenue growth through customer advocacy. Previously, he co-founded the social media and digital marketing firm Zocalo Group (acquired by Omnicom Group) followed by QUEsocial, an employee advocacy technology platform (acquired by Symphony Technology Group).
“I’ve been working with HR.com and its team extensively in previous projects and roles, and I’ve constantly been impressed by not only the reach and impact of their world class content and community, but more importantly, by their people,” said Rooney. “HR.com has a unique chance to help shape the future of human resources and the world of work, and I couldn’t be more excited to help lead this business forward.”
