HRO Today Forum and Workforce Congress Invite HR Leaders to Collaborate and Innovate to Impact Global Workforce Policy

EDISON, New Jersey—February 13, 2012— SharedXpertise, the publisher of HRO Today magazine and producer of popular HR outsourcing and HR technology events, calls on HR officers to share thought leadership and create solutions at its sixth annual HRO Today Forum from April 30 to May 2 in Washington, D.C.  A full schedule of events will not only focus on how HR officers operate in global business, but also convene a VIP group of HR leaders and public policy-makers to craft approaches for solving workforce challenges.

The HRO Today Forum provides a uniquely collaborative environment for an exclusive audience of HR, recruitment, and technology executives and government representatives to discuss the future of HR.  Attendees will work with peers and policy-makers to tackle some of society’s thorniest workforce issues.

“This is not your grandfather’s HR conference—it’s a call to action,” said Elliot Clark, chief executive officer of SharedXpertise.  “The Forum offers HR decision-makers the opportunity to truly make an impact on current workforce issues, both within their organizations and beyond.”

Morning panels and debates bring subject matter expertise to high-level issues, addressing questions like “Where do jobs come from?” and “Is outsourcing good for America?”  Afternoon sessions dig deeper into the Forum’s three main themes: job creation, global HR and innovation.

In keeping with one of those themes, a Big Idea Lightning Round will feature HR professionals sharing their outside-the-box solutions to workforce challenges, and an iTalent competition will offer 10-minute pitches from new and innovative companies, to be voted on by the audience.  Opportunities to network have also been built into the daily schedule.

The Forum’s second day will also feature an afternoon Workforce Congress with a focus on job growth and the competitive workforce.   The overall event will introduce its audience of HR officers and other senior executives to a number of macroeconomic issues that the Workforce Congress will then tackle in-depth. This action-based theme will culminate with an invitation-only gathering of HR officers, public policy makers, non-profit leaders, and NGOs to craft collaborative approaches for solving these tough challenges.  The session will promote action-based solutions that can be implemented beyond the Forum for ongoing impact.

Keynote speakers include:
–    Dr. Brenda Dann-Messier, Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education, U.S. Department of Education
–    Daniel Griswold, President of the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones (NAFTZ)
–    Brink Lindsey, Senior Scholar in Research and Policy at the Kauffman Foundation
–    James H. Quigley, CEO Emeritus of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited and Senior Partner, Deloitte LLP

The Forum will also feature “Hiring For Heroes – Integrating veterans back into the workforce,” a series of discussions on the consequences and opportunities of the largest drawdown of U.S. forces in decades.  Companies have expressed a willingness to employ veterans, but most firms lack real experience doing so. In addition, many vets lack the requisite career and job skills needed in the modern workplace.  “Hiring For Heroes” seeks to decisively address this conundrum.
