HAZLET, N.J. (May 18, 2010) — iCIMS, the 2nd largest provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) talent acquisition solutions, announced today the company’s support of the Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees Campaign — which aims to restore the Atlantic Forest and help reverse global warming. As part of their alliance with the campaign, iCIMS will donate and plant 25 trees for each new employee that the company hires.
One of several initiatives that iCIMS has implemented in its commitment to the environment, the Plant a Billion Trees Campaign is the first forest restoration project in the country to earn validation by the prestigious Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standards. Aimed at benefiting Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, the campaign’s goal is to bring the area back from the brink — restoring 2.5 million acres of land and planting 1 billion trees over the next 7 years. This reforestation effort will also remove 10 million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year – equivalent to taking 2 million cars off the road.
iCIMS’ dedication to creating a cleaner and healthier environment has been a core focus of the company for several years. From iCIMS’ iCARE program, which enables employees to support a clean environment through donations of time, talent, or money – to purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates from National Wind Farms that produce “clean” energy to offset electric usage, iCIMS’ focus on the environment has been unwavering. With help from environmental partner 3Degrees, iCIMS is also a zero-sum consumer – ultimately purchasing more renewable energy through credits each year than it consumes in non-renewable energy.
Solarworld, World Resources Institute, Vestas, Wind Capital Group, and Bloom Energy are just a few of the green companies to join the over 800 clients that utilize iCIMS as an eco-friendly alternative to the normally paper-intensive HR processes. From candidate management processes like requisition management and onboarding, to employee management programs like employee data management and surveys; the iCIMS Talent Platform enables organizations from all industries and of all sizes to reduce their carbon footprint through automation, while equipping them with the best tools to attract, hire and retain top talent. iCIMS also offers an iCARE discount to firms that are clearly committed to reducing reliance on non-renewable energy. Organizations that demonstrate a
commitment to solar, wind, and ethanol energy sources are eligible for iCARE contract discounts when they partner with iCIMS for their HR technology needs.
In addition to the company’s corporate green initiatives and iCARE discounts, iCIMS extends its eco-friendly focus to its product, the iCIMS Talent Platform. Both environmentally conscious and efficient, iCIMS’ Talent Platform enables businesses to create a positive experience for candidates and employees while also creating a sustainable talent management process. Fully web-based career portals offer a venue for job seekers to submit their resumes and applications online rather than on paper, creating electronic candidate files. With powerful tools like iCIMS’ award winning iForms, organizations can convert virtually any paper document — from employment applications and W-4 forms to performance appraisals and employee surveys – into fully searchable and reportable files within the Platform. The iCIMS Talent Platform is especially ideal for facilitating the normally
paper-heavy onboarding process. Through the platform, HR professionals can coordinate the logistics of a new employee’s first few days on the job, including a self-service portal for completion of post-hire forms, scheduling of employee orientation, internal notification to key parties, and more. iCIMS’ onboarding tools enable businesses to create a positive transition for new employees without the hassle of printing and filing documents each step of the way.
Aligning iCIMS’ hiring initiatives with its corporate responsibility program was an important milestone for iCIMS CEO and iCARE founder, Colin Day. “Giving back to the environment continues to be a core passion of ours,” said Day. “From employee driven beach sweeps to an eco-friendly product, giving back to the environment is a very important aspect of our business and we are thrilled to support an organization like the Nature Conservancy and their Plant a Billion Trees Campaign in such a unique way,” said Day.
