Durango, Colo., October 15, 2009 –- Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting congratulates Louise Korver Swanson from EMC for winning the Chief Learning Officer magazine’s prestigious Gold Leadership Learning in Practice award. The Leadership Award is for learning executives who have demonstrably extended their power and influence within their organization. Swanson was honored for her work building the executive talent development function to meet the needs of EMC’s rapidly changing organization.

“The Learning In Practice awards were established to recognize transformational and visionary leaders in enterprise education,” said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of MediaTec Publishing Inc., which publishes Chief Learning Officer magazine. “More than 150 top learning executives and solution providers were nominated by their peers in 10 categories. The winners are the industry leaders who truly champion innovation and transform it into learning and value for their organizations.”

According to Brian Powers, head of EMC University, “It is an honor to be recognized by such an important and influential group such as CLO, we believe it is recognition of the consistently high standards of quality and innovative thinking we try to bring to our approach to development at EMC. The work Louise is committed to is a tangible demonstration of the ongoing commitment to the development of our executives by senior leadership at the company.”

Swanson is well known as an innovator in the executive development field and has implemented cutting edge strategies for executive talent identification, transformational change management, succession planning and globalization. She cut across organizational boundaries and actively involved the entire EMC University team, HR and EMC’s line leaders to develop executive development strategy, along with several key programs including an executive development program and executive coaching. Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting is an integral part of the global coaching initiative launched by Swanson and her team providing professional executive coaches in several regions around the world.
