HR.com, the largest network of human resource (HR) executives, has partnered with National Wellness Institute (NWI) to design, build, and launch a first-of-its-kind training to bring a heightened level of multicultural competency to the HR community, wellness professionals, and beyond. The certificate course titled “High-Level Wellness Through Multicultural Competency: Cultivating a Culture of Wellness for All” will be kicking off August 10th.
The term multicultural competency is at the forefront of the minds of every business, community, and wellness leader. Participants will gain tools and skills to lead the change through effective and meaningful ways of engaging individuals whose worldviews are different from their own, while championing high-level wellness for everyone.
Recent racial injustice uprisings have left wellness professionals and HR professionals with challenging questions and needs from their organizations to advance cultural inclusion and introspection to become more informed.
HR.com’s Head of People, Gavin Morton, who has been part of the pilot program expressed, “The timing of the multicultural competency training in this certificate course could not be better. The politically and racially charged environment plus the stress of a pandemic has greatly impacted all society regardless of demographic. Providing wellness professionals with the tools and techniques to understand how to support their employees and clients is critical. Companies need to be focused on the wellness of their employees, and they need to understand how the wellness dimensions impact people across all demographic groups.”
The certificate course will be a highly engaging, self-paced course designed by multicultural competency subject matter experts that incorporates National Wellness Institute’s world-renowned Six Dimensions of Wellness and Multicultural Wellness Wheel, as well as meets the rigorous standards of the evidence-based Wellness Promotion Competency Model. The course is showing high demand, with the current pilot program having been sold out.
Chief Learning Officer at HR.com, Heidi Scott, who had an active role in creating the course reflected, “Partnering with National Wellness Institute to design and build this course has been rich in value for many reasons. The team of subject matter experts they brought to the table provided extreme content depth and accuracy. NWI provided guidance on how best to position learning activities to hit the needs people in every industry face when it comes to multicultural competency. HR.com’s Learning and Development Team brought insightful, creativity to the initiative – all in an effort to arrive at enjoyable, online learning that ‘sticks.’ The active engagement provided to all participants in the online learning environment equips them to go DO their jobs better. And that is truly exciting as we seek to positively impact our workplaces and world through better understanding, respecting and valuing all people.”
Course participants will be able to take advantage of special pricing, as well as earn HRCI General Recertification Credits or SHRM PDCs. Group registrations are available, but space is limited. Participants will also receive a ‘High-Level Wellness Through Multicultural Competency’ Certificate. This course also qualifies for Continuing Education Credits through National Wellness Institute for ACSM, NBHWC, NCHEC or NWI CWP.
