Industry benchmarking, credentialing, and workforce monitoring are getting increased attention, alongside the ever-present challenges of optimizing accuracy, turnaround time, and candidate experience.
Sterling partnered with HR.com to survey healthcare recruiters and talent acquisition professionals across the United States to take the pulse of the industry. Among evergreen challenges like turnaround times, accuracy, and candidate experience, the survey uncovered challenges in industry benchmarking, credentialing, and workforce monitoring.
HR.com’s Research Institute conducted the study called Vital Signs for a Healthy Hiring Program with Sterling, a leading provider of background and identity services. Analysis of the data from survey respondents reveals that in addition to constant struggles to improve accuracy, turnaround time, and candidate experience, there are other challenges to address.
Almost two-thirds (62%) of survey respondents said their organizations do not benchmark their screening results against any other companies in the industry.
With regard to credentialing, just over one in three organizations use their background screening provider to check credentialing. Sterling’s healthcare experts believe this could lead to duplicative efforts, and that there are several benefits to using the same provider for both to streamline processes and increase efficiencies.
When it comes to workforce monitoring, 28% of survey respondents said they have no type of workforce monitoring program in place. This could lead to increased risks for their organizations.
