Secova Announces Coordination of Benefits (COB) Audit Services

Newport Beach, Calif. – Secova, a firm that provides customized solutions for the administration of employee benefits and human resources, introduces an innovative process that removes the administrative burden experienced by many employers when trying to coordinate benefits with insurance carriers. As a part of the Coordination of Benefits (COB) service, Secova collects other insurance information from plan members on enrolled dependents. This information is then used to adjust coverage tiers to appropriate levels to achieve substantial savings for employers.
Utilizing a rules-based engine, Secova configures benefit order rules (typically NAIC) and applies other insurance information to determine primary, secondary, and/or tertiary coverage levels. Secova’s clients no longer need to make manual benefit order determinations themselves, as these decisions are automated by Secova’s process.
Secova recently engaged with the Retirement System of Alabama’s (RSA) Public Education Employees’ Health Insurance Plan (PEEHIP) to complete such a project.
