GUELPH, Ontario — May 1, 2012 — Innovation and engagement specialist Juice Inc. invites business leaders in the Mississauga area to experience and learn innovation in its hands-on, breakthrough event, “Innovation-In-A-Box™.” The event will be held 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET on May 15 at Delta Meadowvale in Mississauga, Ontario.
Innovation is more than brainstorming; there are a number of essential elements required for successful and creative problem-solving. Innovation-In-A-Box will equip individuals and teams with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to generate breakthrough solutions to everyday problems. In this interactive, hands-on workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to take the guesswork out of innovation using a structured approach called the i5 process:
• Identification: Focusing on the right opportunities.
• Investigation: Identifying the root causes and contributing factors.
• Ideation: Generating and strengthening breakthrough solutions.
• Impact: Choosing the right solution.
• Implementation: Mapping an execution strategy.
Rick Boersma, Juice’s in-house innovation expert and graphic facilitator, will lead the training event. Boersma co-founded Floworks Simulations and Training in 2000, where he creates and facilitates training simulations including Innovation in a Box, C6 — Accountability™, Terra Nova™, The Big Picture™ and Enterprise™. From 1995 through 2000, Boersma was a lead designer and facilitator for Eagle’s Flight Creative Training Excellence Inc., creating and facilitating experiential training programs across North America for Fortune 500 companies. In 2010, Boersma officially joined the Juice team. His book, “A Graphic Innovation Guide,” is nearing completion.
“One of the biggest levers you have to grow your business and stay ahead of your competitors is innovation,” said Boersma. “We now understand that innovation is not just coming up with out-of-the-box ideas; it is engaging everyday leaders in a process that transforms how we think about solving problems. This event teaches a structured and practical approach to embed innovation into the fabric of your organization.”
