(Hunt Valley, MD) February 18, 2010 – ConnectYourCare, a leading provider of Consumer-Directed Healthcare (CDH) account management solutions, announced that it was selected by the State of Maryland for the administration of its Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
Under ConnectYourCare’s administration, the state’s FSA option will now include a debit card option. The FSA debit card will allow employees to pay for eligible expenses directly from the FSA at the point of sale.
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to serve our state employees,” said Jamie Spriggs, Chief Marketing Officer at ConnectYourCare. “We look forward to bringing the state new FSA features like the debit card, online claims submission, and communications designed to make it easier to understand these benefits.”
ConnectYourCare administration of the state’s FSA will begin on July 1, 2010. The administrative services will include:
- Administration of the Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA.
- Debit card access to Healthcare FSA funds.
- Online account access for participants.
- Online claims submission process.
- Health education tools, including a health risk assessment and hospital comparison tool.
- Online account management and reporting for the benefits organization.
The State of Maryland regularly evaluates its benefits administrators. In this evaluation, a notice of the availability of the Request for Proposals (RFP) was advertised on eMarylandmarketplace.com. In addition, the RFP was mailed directly to 24 prospective vendors, ten of which are Maryland firms, and included eight MBEs. A copy was also sent to the Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs.
