Troy, Mich — July 28, 2010 — On March 17, 2010 President Obama signed the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act. This $17.5 billion legislation was designed to encourage hiring by providing employers with an exemption from the employer’s 6.2 percent share of social security tax on wages paid to qualifying employees, effective for wages paid from March 19, 2010 through December 31, 2010, as well as a new hire retention credit of 6.2 percent of wages paid to the qualified employee over a period of 52 consecutive weeks up to a maximum credit of $1,000.

Except a mention in the President’s State of the Union speech little has been done to promote the HIRE Act and only about $8.5 billion has been spent so far. Due to a lack of promotion or the belief that it’s just too complicated, the HIRE Act resembles several other valuable yet underutilized programs. Other examples are the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), demographic, geographic, state and other hiring tax credits that can significantly boost the bottom line.

JobApp is proud to announce that we can automate and process HIRE Act tax credits, in addition to WOTC, demographic, geographic, state and other hiring tax credits. “Our proven ability to screen job applicants for tax credit eligibility via phone and web and automatically populate the necessary paperwork for new hires will dramatically improve our clients’ results with tax credits. Through our tax credit processing center and compliance management solution we are able to improve client results and offer an end‐to end, single‐vendor solution,” said Blake Helppie, the Chief Executive Officer of JobApp Network.

JobApp will also be hosting an informative webcast on employee tax credits August 10, 2010 @ 3PM (EDT) Turn Hiring into a Profit Center (click here to register). We will cover the different tax credits available, common mistakes and misunderstandings about tax credits, how to automate the process to reduce paperwork and eliminate mistakes, how to identify eligible applicants before you hire them and more.
