HRO Today Forum Convenes Invitation-Only Workforce Congress

EDISON, New Jersey/March 28, 2012 — Senior HR officers, government policy makers and NGO executives will convene on May 2nd at the inaugural HRO Today Institute and Corporate Responsibility magazine Workforce Congress in Washington, DC. The invitation-only Workforce Congress will focus on developing concrete plans for getting America back to work.

The Workforce Congress will debate a series of resolutions calling for cross-sector collaboration and public-private partnerships. Congressional delegates will work towards a joint statement to be issued to the public immediately following the HRO Today Forum. Discussions and resolutions for consideration include:

• Training for upward mobility with a comprehensive workforce development policy in place
• Public-private partnerships for retraining, redeploying, and reemploying veterans
• Rethinking the role and participation of aging workers and foreign-born students

In addition to the Workforce Congress itself, attendees will join an elite set of discussions with:

• Former US Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD)
• Chief executive officer-Emeritus of Deloitte and renowned author Jim Quigley
• Author, researcher, and architect of pending legislation on job growth Brink Lindsey from the Kauffman Foundation
• U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education Barbara Dann-Messier

“As countries and companies fight to come out of the recession, what actions do corporate senior HR officers and government entities need to take—singularly and collectively—to ensure that we have the high quality workforce necessary to generate sustained growth and productivity?” said Elliot Clark, chief executive officer of SharedXpertise, producers of the HRO Today Forum. “We’ve created the Workforce Congress to aggressively address these issues and create solutions.”

The output of the Workforce Congress will drive focused activities and research over the coming months, leading up to a second Workforce Congress at the COMMIT!Forum on October 2-3 in New York City, where this group will reconvene to share insights and results as they determine next steps.

Only senior HR officers, government policy makers and NGO executives are invited to attend the inaugural Workforce Congress. To attend, go to www.hrotodayforum.com and register using ID Code WFC2012.
