Interaction Associates & Interaction Institute for Social Change to co-present at the Annual Conference of the International Leadership Association

(Cambridge, MA) – The 40-year innovator of advanced methods for developing leaders, Interaction Associates (IA), and its non-profit partner organization, the Interaction Institute for Social Change (IISC), will co-present on the importance of cross-sector collaboration for leaders at the 12th Annual International Leadership Association (ILA) Conference.

The session, entitled “Lead Across Sectors Like Your Business Depends On It (Because it Does!)” will take place at the Marriott Copely Place in downtown Boston, MA, Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:45 a.m.

Speakers Ashley Welch of IA and Gibran Rivera of the IISC will show how cross-sector collaboration has emerged as a critical success factor for business leaders in the 21st century. Participants will learn an approach to managing the web of necessary stakeholders to achieve business goals, while advancing sustainability. They also will have the opportunity to participate in a robust peer dialogue, and will receive a collaborative toolkit to help implement cross-sector collaboration.

“We are delighted to share our research and experience with a broad spectrum of global leaders participating in the ILA Conference,” said Linda Dunkel, President and CEO of Interaction Associates. “The areas of economic, environmental and social sustainability are more and more urgent,” Dunkel said. “Organizations with finite resources and complex challenges are partnering across sectors to get more powerful results. Collaboration is a critical skill leaders must use to address not only business growth, but the complex requirements of their communities,” she added.

Recent Interaction Associates’ research into the intersecting areas of trust, leadership and collaboration revealed that a common characteristic of high-performing organizations is a strong sense of shared purpose. “This drive for a shared purpose is one of the reasons that sustainability, as well as collaboration, is of great interest to for-profit and non-profit organizations alike,” Dunkel said.
